XXII Olympic Winter Games of 2014 in Sochi: first results

The paper deals with history of Sochi Bid for Winter Olympics. The authors bring the first results of the XXII Olympic Winter Games in Sochi in 2014: what is the socio-economic impact on the development of the resort town and the Krasnodar region in general. A detailed comparative analysis of major socio-economic indicators of Sochi and the Krasnodar region done with the average indicators of the Southern Federal District and Russia throughout the Olympic business cycle "Sochi 2014". XXII Olympic Winter Games of 2014 gave impetus to the development of Sochi and the Krasnodar region and helped accelerate their development.
